Bank Robber Evades Boise Cops, Gets Away Clean
Jan 29, 2008 - 20:24
A Nampa man who successfully robbed the Bank of the Cascades at 801 South Vista Avenue at about 11:00 a.m. yesterday is on the loose after dodging law enforcement officers after a short chase.
Boise cops are generally so numerous and aggressive that few criminals manage to escape after being pursued, but Kelvin Joseph Boyd, the 26 year old suspect in this robbery, evaded police officers by running on foot from his vehicle near Roosevelt and St. Andrews streets just after committing the crime.
Police officers followed footprints from the abandoned vehicle to a residence on Zola Ave near Malad Street, but a few hours later it was determined that Boyd was not in the home.
Boise Criminal Trivia Bonus: In 1997 Kelvin Boyd worked as a dish washer at Peter Schott's restaurant in the Idanha Building in downtown Boise where he earned the nickname "Special-K" from coworkers.
